The Style Components

The Rhythm Web Design theme builder tools consist of a collection of different compontents which work together to produce a website design. Each of these components will affect only a particular section of your web theme. Eg the Background component types applies styles that affect your theme background.

To create and modify your design and particular components, go to Create Design and hover over the Toolbox on the left side (if website is left aligned, toolbox will be on the right).

The Toolbox contains all style components with their various colour and style options.

Style components are the individual sections of the webpage (header, frame, background etc.) that you can modify individually. Just click on the component icon in the Toolbox and then the colour or style you like. You will see the result immediately and can change things until you have created your personal design.

The components and their component types are discussed below.


Layout Options

 

Various functionalities embedded within the settings component allows you to change the overall width and alignment on the theme that your are creating.

The Narrow function sets page width on the site wrapper to 768px.

The Wide function sets the width on the site wraper to 950px.

Where as, the Full Screen function removes all width restrictions on the site wrapper and allows your content to flow naturally.

Left align , just as the name implies, aligns your theme to the left.

The centered setting centers your theme on the screen.


Background

Functions within the backgrond component type affect only a particular area of your theme as illustrated above. 

Choose from the functions until your are satisfied with the results and move on to try some of the other components and their component types.


Top Menu

The Top Menu is an extra menu area above the header. It is often used for Sign Ins and Sign Ups but can also be used for additional images, advertisements or other functions. You have the option to have a Top Menu or switch it off if you don’t need it.


Frame

The frame encloses the content section on your website. You have the choice of having a frame in different widths and colours or of not having a frame at all (“hide).


Header

The header section is mainly used for the logo, website title and a slogan.
You have the choice of different sizes and colours for your personal header as well as headers with images matching the colour.


Menu

 

The Menu contains links to pages on your website.
The Rhythm Web Design Theme Builder tools allow you to choose from a range of menu options, offering different sizes, colours, fonts, bars and hover effects.
You also have the option of switching off the menu completely if you don’t want to have a menu bar at all (“hide”).


Content

The Content section is the main section of your website where your articles, photos, texts etc. for your audience go to.
You can have a coloured or plain white content section, depending on the kind of content you might display and on your taste.


Text and Links

The Text and Links Section defines the font and link/frame colour.
The style names (“modern, comic” etc.) represent the fonts; within a specific font you can choose a colour for your links and frames (on images).


Footer

The Footer of a website at the bottom of the page often contains copyright information as well as terms of use, contact links or logos.
The design of the footer is consistent on all pages (i.e. the footer looks the same on all pages).


Features

“Features” describes the design of headlines and titles of content sections.
If you choose to have a headline or title (e.g. above a list of articles), this feature box can be styled in different ways (e.g. have a dashed or straight lines in different colours).


Windows

“Windows” are the little pop-ups that come up for sign in, sign up and some others.
You can style those windows so they fit in your overall design of your personal website.
